About Brivalta
Brivalta is an early-stage UK technology development company creating and integrating modular process configurations for complex saline and industrial waters, with magnesium recovery, initially as magnesium hydroxide, as its first and most advanced product pathway.
PURPOSE
Brivalta develops configurations that may improve water treatment while recovering selected resources or useful heat where site conditions and economics support their inclusion. The work begins with the operating requirement and develops the whole stream as one system.
POSITION
Brivalta is building its core development capability around stream-specific process architecture. It develops the site-specific process concept, leads staged validation, integrates laboratory, engineering, product and economic results, and makes Go, Revise or No-Go decisions between stages. Specialist technologies and capabilities are brought in through qualified partners where needed. The development pathway is designed to move justified configurations from laboratory work through pilot and demonstration towards future commercial deployment. Brivalta does not yet offer a finished multi-mineral technology or a commercial plant.
LOCATION
Brivalta Ltd is based in Greater Manchester and is building a UK-led development pathway with scope for international collaboration where the feedstock, partners and project basis justify it.
CURRENT STAGE
The company is approximately at TRL 2–3. Its current task is to convert selected stream opportunities and preliminary models into representative data, laboratory results, product characterisation and a justified process configuration for a pilot decision.
